The week of March 31, 2014 I observed a field near my home. It was the first week of warm weather in Austin, and I decided to enjoy the outdoors. I spent the day observing the plants and animals in the field. Later I observed the life cycles of the nature around me in order to better understand. This week I learned about photosynthesis. Now that it is sunny outside, the plants can absorb the sunlight to make nutrients to sustain their growth cycle. I find the process of photosynthesis to be fascinating. As Aldo Leopold states in a Sand County Almanac “Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land” and photosynthesis is one of the most basic processes nature uses to maintain that balance .
