For my expert hours I feel like I spent about equal time doing homework as well as just practicing using Illustrator. I would say that I was pretty consistent in my practice time. I make an appoint to get on Illustrator at least once a day whether it is just to work on homework or to play around with the tools. I do wish that I had used InDesign a little more, but since we used Illustrator for both design classes I mostly practiced on Illustrator. I also, spent time on Pinterst in order to get ideas for my work and just to blog things that interest me that may help me in the future.

I think that my work has definitely gotten better since the beginning of the semester now that I am more aware of the tools and how to use them correctly. Compared to my midterm essay I would also say that my work has improved. Unlike before where for example I had to think about iterating symbols I am now getting in the habit of doing it without me having to think about it. Although I think that my work has improved a lot I do not think that I am at the high level yet. I would say that I am in the medium to high range, and that I still could work on certain aspects of my work.

I believe that I take feedback both from my peers and the professor as very meaningful. I enjoy getting feedback because it helps point out solutions that I may not have thought of before. I try my best in order to incorporate the feedback that I’m given into my work in order to improve the quality of the work.

I think that the challenge of all of these projects were high. I think that I tried pushing myself in order get the best and most original work, but I do that that I could have pushed myself further. I know that there were times that I could have spent more time on projects and that could have gotten my work onto a higher level. I would say that my challenge level was at the medium range and that I need to work at getting to the intense stage.

For other expert experiences I would say that I am kind of between the medium and higher range. I mostly worked on the class assignment for both design classes, but I did try and make it an appoint to work on design work randomly so that I could practice using the tools. I mostly would just make random things in my free time on Illustrator but nothing that I would publish it was more just for my own practice. One of the events that I attended was the senior show. I really enjoyed attending the show. I liked being able to see other peoples design work and that gives me ideas for my own work.

My social emotional development I think is in the mature level. I try and plan out my schedule every week in order to balance work and school. Since I work Monday through Friday until 6, I have to make sure that I have a list of work that I need to do, and plan it accordingly in order to make sure all of my assignments are done on time. I would say I am in control of my time and try and make sure that my work is of good quality given the time I have.

I think that I contribute to the class in a positive way. I try to give constructive criticism to my peers, as well as take the criticism given to me in a positive way. I try and contribute to the class discussions and interact with everyone and their work. I am always open to answering questions as well as helping my peers and giving them feedback.

Overall I think that this course was challenging for me, and that I really tried to produce good quality work and challenge myself. I think that my work has gotten better from this class and would say that averaging from the criteria I deserve a low A to a high B.
