Today, if you don’t exist in social media you don’t exist at all. It is sad but very true. Taco Bell, Starbucks, Walmart and Coca-Cola are just a few of the companies who have used social media to their advantage and gain popularity around the world. Today, I want to take a moment and look at how Torchy’s Tacos uses their twitter and how it has increased their success in Austin. Here are five tips for any small business to use on Twitter using Touchy’s Tacos twitter page as an example.

1. Twitter Image – Creating your image is the fun part. This is the place where you or the CEO creates the the face of the business, choosing who you want to target, what you want to promote, and who you (Business) want to be. Although one must always be careful of what you choose to post or not post. Torchy’s Tacos has opted for the bad boy of fast food image. If you go to their page you’ll see the devil’s torch struck through a taco. This gives us (the followers) the illusion that only bad @$$es eat at this place, like if Rihanna or Adam Levine would just walk in and grab a taco, smile, and like it. Taking this into account, those who own business as well as personal twitter accounts should refrain from posting their views on on politics, religion or any red flag subject.  Dan T Cathy the CEO of Chick-Fil-A as a great example of this.

2. Followers – First off any business small or big should gain a good amount of followers in order to have any influence or recognition. This begins with following users who are loyal fans to your business or those who tweet about you.

3. Responding – Connecting with your followers is the best way to keep your twitter running. When posting news about new menu ideas or catering events Torchy’s Tacos seems to be on it! By listening and conversing with the people who keep your wallet full you are giving them what they want … and need.

4. Pictures – Lets face it we don’t always read all of the long post on our feed, but a picture says a thousand words. With this picture from Torchy’s twitter all I can say is two tacos please.

5. Slogan – Sticking with a good slogan can take you a long way. Try to find what you want your business to stand for and who you want to target. Make sure this is strong and angled towards your audience you want.

All of these are so true. I think especially images. I mean for me and my friends we are on instagram a lot more than we are on Twitter. So companies can double task and put these photos on instagram and twitter. Wouldn’t you agree that Instagram is gaining a value in the social media world for businesses? I also like the fact that Instagram give you the ability to immediate connect with Twitter and Facebook. I love how you added examples. This post is clear and easy to read. I love reading your posts!
