VI$U1311: Creativity Blog #4

Listening to Medium is the Message took a lot of work, mainly because you have to sit there and pick out intelligible words from a sea of sound effects and static. Reading it, however, changes the meaning of the audio, especially for those who accidentally listened to the audio before reading the article. The idea that art is always affecting you, always touching you and is always there isn’t surprising- art has lead revolutions, guided our society, and taught our youth. But this ideology (that a concept can touch you) isn’t really an ideology- its a fact. Everything humans create, from a shitty reflective essay to a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser- it all has an essence in it, an essence the creator of the work put in it. This essence brushes off on every thing that comes in contact with it, making people think, even if its for a second, about something. The essence put into Medium is the Message is as follows- media is a collective of human failures, intimate details, grand achievements, and every other range of human experience, but without the knowledge that the media is constantly affecting us, we can never analyze it due to bias.
