Faculty Support

Academic Affairs is happy to provide support to faculty throughout their career. Please visit the faculty support page to find a host of resources.

Faculty Governance

We encourage all faculty to participate in processes that govern the university, mostly conducted by the Faculty Senate of elected representatives from each School, undergraduate and graduate, and some members elected at large. Please see our Faculty Governance page at https://sites.stedwards.edu/facultymeetings/ for more information and reach out to any Senator or the Senate President with questions or concerns.

Faculty Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (FCDI)

The Faculty Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (FCDI) is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate.  Its purpose is to create and sustain a civil and robust dialogue about the value of a diverse faculty body.  A diverse faculty and staff community refers to colleagues from varied racial, ethnic, national, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, geographical and religious backgrounds. A diverse faculty/staff member also may have life experiences, perspectives, and cultural traditions that are underrepresented in the academy or in a particular academic discipline. The FCDI members are also committed to diverse membership without unreasonably expecting traditionally underrepresented groups should or must serve on this committee. Please see the Faculty Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice page at  https://www.stedwards.edu/faculty-staff/faculty-dei-support for more information and reach out to the 2023-2024 co-chairs Emily Bernate (ebernate@stedwards.edu) or Natalie Beck Aguilera (nbeck2@stedwards.edu) with questions or concerns.

Title IX: A Commitment to Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of St. Edward’s University to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits sex- and gender identity- based discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) in the university’s educational programs and activities, including employment and admission. Title IX also prohibits retaliation for asserting claims of sex and gender identity discrimination. The university is committed to a discrimination-free environment and provides resources and services to help students, faculty and staff address issues involving sex and gender identity discrimination.
