Requesting Resources

When the library does not have a resource you need you can request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) or complete a purchase request. You can also acquire a TexShare card from Munday Library to use resources in other area institutions.

Below are some guidelines to help decide whether to use ILL or purchase request:

Interlibrary Loan should be used when:

  • the item is needed once and will not be used in future semesters
  • the item is for single user research and not for use in a course
  • the items does not meet the library’s Collection Development Policy selection criteria

A Purchase Request should be used when:

  • the item meets the library’s Collection Development Policy selection criteria
  • the item may be of interest to multiple users, such as all who teach a particular course
  • the item is unavailable through ILL and meets the Collection Development Policy selection criteria
