Part 2:
“Earthly Vibes”
This past summer, I went on a two week Study Abroad in Australia with St. Ed’s. This is a real Australian boomerang hand-crafted by an Aborginal man that I met. He showed us how to paint boomerangs, as such a practice has long been a tradition to his people, and then we each got to paint our own. I painted the feet of the Cassowary bird, for this bird plays an important part in maintaining the Australian Rainforest. I hope that someday I can be similar to the Cassowary, meaning that I want to be needed to keep something going, to be the vital factor in helping a system remain. I also painted several rows of dots to symbolize the spiritual connection that the Aboriginal people have with nature, and their belief that wherever they may wander, their ancestors are looking down from the stars and protecting them. I feel the same regarding my own life, as I believe that wherever I may wander, God is looking down from Heaven and protecting me with His loving grace.
