Junior Studio: Invitation

This was a project we were given on the first day of class, in which during class we had 30 minutes to draft up an idea of what we wanted to do. We were given a place to explore and our goal was to create an invitation to an event that was going to happen at the location. In my draft I focused on pairing fonts together to create an interesting type based invitation. I chose fonts that I don’t think traditionally go together and tried to make them work with one another. From there I expanded and chose color and imagery. I landed on the idea of making collectible postcards where one is the invitation you get prior to the event and the other is the one you get when you actually attend the event. I did this in order to incentivize going to the art opening. On the backs of the invitations I put artwork that was supposed to be in the opening to give a taste of what was going to be showing in the gallery.
