Design is the idea that materials are made to create something new that is useful as a tool or entertainment. Design has been around since man has walked this earth. When civilization began design came aright behind. As society developed into what it is today through revolutions design has changed in ideas and concepts to best-fit peoples needs.

In the early days of humans when we began to use our hands we would use anything in site and pick it up to see what it can useful for. This mainly came in handy when society began to cultivate as we progressed more. Tools used for cultivation where some of the very first design ideas. Along with this came culture and keeping that culture alive for as along as people can. Language, writing, and books were developed from this was of thinking. People began to develop these ways of thinking to create a sense of culture in the community they where living in. Over thousands of years these ideas grew into much bigger concepts. This then lead into the agricultural and industrial revolutions.

With these revolutions came design evolutions that will impact society forever. Design now was thought of as useful tools that will help people communicate with each other in a way that was never happened before. With this came the printing press and other forms of mass communication. Design elements where very important in making these new tools because it was something new that would move society forward. Moving forward in society is what makes deign an always-relevant idea to society. Design creates new concepts and it pushes people to think differently and create these ideas that move us forwards in life. All these technological advances would not be around if design was not thought of.

One fact is that design began with civilization. Civilization created tools that pushed society forward and made it possible for people to live successfully. Design thought the ages has changed definitions to best fit how it was used. In the end design is the idea of tools being used to create something new and these tools being ideas of design themselves.
