Spoon from song explorer:

I found this video to be the most interesting because I felt like it shows individual creativity and collaboration with creativity at the same time. You see the different types of people that make up the band and how their input creates art. They don’t put limitations on themselves. When they have an idea, they share it and try it out. It shows that art can be spontaneous and it doesn’t need to fit a specific structure. They use trial and error to create their art. If they like someone idea they put it in but they collaborate in a group which most artist like to work alone so its fascinating to see the end product. I also enjoyed how they refer to other musical works and how ideas are formed by listening to something new. it helps to think of how another artist would approach their new song. They were able to create something that was completely original but had different muses to create it.

Dan Brackage:

My first thought when watching this video was “where is the sound?”. I was confused by what was happening and then when I just relaxed and watched it for what it was, I accepted the randomness of it. In a way it looked like a story. It told a story and then it went backwards to end it off. It made me think of perspective and the life cycle of how we are all created and go on this journey and then when that journey is over, we go backwards and the cycle ends.

Amy Tan Ted talk :

Amy Tan talks about how we create and how it branches from emotions and many other things inside us. As creators, we have a multi-dimensional brain that works all at once. We have anxiety and a past but we use all our experiences and emotions as our muse. We translate our good and dark times into our art. Some believe that everything happens for a reason while others simply believe in randomness. I think that the two go hand-in-hand. Things that happen out of randomness most likely happened for a reason and within that reason, we find a silver lining that teaches us and expands our knowledge. Everyone has a different process for their creativity. For me, I think that I have different ways to reach my creativity because not just one way works for me. Creativity happens at any moment and it how we react to it that we can truly express ourselves with no limitations.
