In its continued efforts to become more sustainable, Bon Appétit recently announced that it will be charging 25 cents per compostable to-go container across its on-campus dining halls. Their goal is to start promoting the use of their reusable plastic boxes instead of the disposable compostable containers, which will help to reduce the amount of waste that eventually ends up in the landfill. Over 100,000 meals were in eaten in the cafeteria last year from compostable boxes, rather than plates.
