Learn About Trees in Austin With “My City’s Trees” Web App

Whether you love trees, are an Environmental Science/Biology major, or just a nature enthusiast you will find the My City’s Trees website interesting. In just 5 minutes of navigating through the website I found out that we have many more trees in Austin than people! My City’s Trees is managed by Texas A&M Forest Service; it is a great tool that allows you to access Urban FIA Data and produce custom analyses and reports. Some of the data available are the count, value, leaves, energy, runoff, pollution, and health of the trees. You could use this for your coursework, or simply for fun. It’s very user friendly and interesting to play around with, especially the interactive map. I encourage you to visit My City’s Trees and explore the trees in our area.
