Assignment 3 Blog
For the group assignment, my group wanted to reach out to officers, lawyers, judges, anyone who has performed jury duty, and victims of crime for their insights on crime. We had some complications where as the people we have contacted have not responded to our requests. Fortunately I was able to get an interview by someone who was a victim of theft. This individual was not my first choice but I was able to ask questions and get responses from them. When I read the responses to the questions I have asked, I felt that the answers I would read would probably be different from if I were to ask a lawyer of their views and a judge despite them all being related to the field because they each play a different role and, as one would assume, view things slightly different. But after reading the responses I had the feeling that a lawyer and judge would have responded the same way as to how my interviewee has responded. This was able to give me more insight to the wicked problem of crime because it made me think that if a lot of other people have the same views as the person I have interviewed, then that would mean that solving this wicked problem would prove to be a lot more easier than anyone would have first assumed.
