WICKED PROBLEM : PHOTOGRAPHY

Dr. Kennedy’s lecture this past Monday was very intriguing and interested me in looking at photography around me every day and question it. For me, it is hard to understand what a lot of photography means because I don’t know how to decipher it. It fascinates me that something like photography is a skill that you can learn and is even a universal language. For Dr. Kennedy, photography is a wicked problem when he has to go find other “solutions” to take a photo that other people have yet to pursue or encounter. He has to see the world around him from a different angle and perspective. I was really surprised to find out that he is really good at photography but he is unable to paint with oils on canvas, as a manual artist. He is a photography artist but not a paintingĀ artist. I can relate to this because my dad is an animator and heĀ can do oil on canvas paintings during his spare time, but he does not know much about photography and never really pursued his career in that path.
