Teaching Philosophy

I believe learning is best facilitated by experience and that academic settings provide opportunities to master content and translate learning into skills. Experience that is grounded in knowledge and developed through critical thinking provides students with a foundation from which to put knowledge into practice.

Students are learning all the time so material presented in courses is happening inside and outside of the classroom.  I strive to present material in a manner that engages the student in a personal way, interacting with the material and with each other, and with me.

I believe technology greatly enhances the learning experience when it is used to engage and interact, building a community of learning.
