The main purpose of this assignment was to learn how to create motion pieces using After Effects by creating a weather report animation. I decided to keep my animation simpler as I was familiar with how finicky after effects can be. I also decided the main theme of my animation was going to be cascade, and I used a cascading motion as much as possible in the piece. This is because it is an interesting motion and it is not too hard to execute. Aside from that to help make my piece even more unique I chose 4 cities at random with no rhyme or reason. I think the cascading motions and gradient colors help to create a more professional feel while also providing a simple yet effective choreographic element for the data points to follow.
