Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?

I was thinking of going on a trip with my dad somewhere, but that idea was lost pretty early on.

How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?

Not great. I already have some trouble with my initial online class that I didn’t have alternatives to taking, and likewise, I’m having similar troubles with online classes.

Where will you be living while courses are held online? Is this a change from usual?

I just moved home for the summer a week ago. I wasn’t planning to move, but with uncertainty of the future, it became necessary.

What has been your experience with moving classes online? What’s good? What’s not so good?

I appreciate teachers who have been kind, concerned, and lenient. However, teachers didn’t really change course load for me, so it’s been a struggle. I find myself much less motivated with online class.

How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?

I’ve had a hard time focusing, and I’ve noticed myself getting new hyper fixations to distract myself. I don’t really leave except for the occasional walk.

How worried are you about getting the virus?

I’m worried I’ll spread it to others, but to my understanding, it seems to be a greater concern of when, and which strain. I’m worried about giving it to my mom, who is immunocomprimised, but I’m fairly healthy so I’m not really concerned about the symptoms when I get it.

Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?

Yes.

Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?

Yes. I’ve been doing school and playing animal crossing, listening to a pod cast called the Magnus Archives. I’ve been bothering my cat, and taking naps with her.

Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?

No. At most I go to the grocery every few weeks, or walks.

What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?

What’s giving my strength is the kindness people are showing right now, and understanding it will be over eventually. That and my cat.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about what you’re feeling or experiencing right now?

Classes have been hard. It’s hard to focus, and it’s hard to care the same that I normally do.
