Minimalism: Dan Flavin

Dan Flavin (Click on his name to learn more about him if you do not know who he is) is another minimalist who was famous for creating sculptures and installations from commercially available fluorescent light fixtures. His work is entrancing by the use of the colorful lights. A little about Dan Flavin is that he studied for priesthood at the Immaculate Conception Preparatory Seminary in Brooklyn. He also enlisted in the US Air Force, and he attended the Hans Hoffmann School of Fine Arts. He is a link to his art at the Guggenheim. Here is an Interview done by Chinati. All though I cannot find a lot information about him, his work is extremely interesting and definitely worth a couple minutes to look at.
