Fall 2016 Installation Art class

Students in the Installation Art course created installations with a primary criteria of multiple. They solved the problem in a variety of ways and installed them on campus: on view in JBWS, Munday Library, outside of Premont, and in the art building from Nov 3- Nov 9, 2016.

Students were also given the same prompt of multiple but as a group. From here students were tasked to create a site specific installation above the entrance to the Fine Arts Gallery and to repurpose material used in a separate project. The students were prompted with the term FEAST and from there worked through ideas until they agreed upon a series of eyes to feast upon the viewer, beauty in the eye of the beholder, to feast with the eye. Installed December 2016.

Students in the course also committed to an external obligation set for January 2017. The students refined and re-installed their final installations made in fall 2016 at ATM Gallery in January 2017.  The students promoted the exhibition and hosted an opening reception. For the majority of the students, this was the first time they had exhibited art and exhibited art off campus.
