Part 1
The goal of this assignment was to take photos of the sculpture outside of St. Joseph and make it into a sketch. We then had to turn any part of that sketch into another sculpture, then cast a shadow on the sculpture and turn it back into a sketch. I decided to only work on the base of the sculpture and focus on what I could do with a rectangular shape.
This was the circle project. The goal was to make many circles that match a definition, and only use the circle tool to create it. This was my favorite page out of the seven I had filled up. At first, it was difficult to do, but after going though the definitions again, I found it to be easier and quite fun.
Part 2 (Circle Project)
- The strongest aspect of this work is the shading I did for it, it really made the images better.
- The weakest aspect is the variety, they are all very similar.
- The project would look better if there were more creative images, rather than basic ones.
- Some of the sketching is a little sloppy, and would be more pleasing if drawn more carefully.
