For this project I created a type specimen book for Futura. This was my first time creating a book and I really enjoyed designing something based around a concept- geometry. I wanted to focus on the fact that Futura has very geometric characteristics when it came to designing the book. I designed the cover in that specific way to mimic the style of propaganda using Paul Renner’s face. I think this was not the best approach I could of taken. I think a more simplistic design would of been more powerful. Throughout the book I use triangles, rectangles, squares and circles to showcase the typeface. The letters and their structure was what I wanted to emphasize a lot because they are so bold. I felt that relating them to the shapes would contribute to my concept. Overall, I would revise a lot of design decisions that I made throughout my process but I do enjoy what I executed here. It was a good start for me.
