2017 AASHE Conference and Expo: Call for Proposals

The 2017 AASHE Conference & Expo Call for Proposals has officially launched!

Expected to draw more than 2,000 participants, AASHE’s annual conference is the largest stage in North America to exchange effective models, policies, research, collaborations and transformative actions that advance sustainability in higher education and surrounding communities. We invite you to submit a proposal and share your knowledge, achievements and ideas.

The results of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election have exposed a divided nation and have left many groups on campus feeling insecure and concerned for their future. The results also indicate that many voters do not see sustainability as relevant to their concerns and, indeed, the new administration has suggested that it intends to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement and roll back or repeal a variety of social and environmental protections. With a theme of “Stronger in Solidarity,” the 2017 AASHE Conference & Expo will focus on how the campus sustainability community can break down walls, build bridges, and continue to make progress toward a healthy and equitable future for all.

As a presenter, your contributions will be shared and discussed during the conference. This is a great opportunity for your campus and your own professional development. From engaging attendees with your sustainability story to empowering others with the tools that have helped you, your participation will create a stronger campus sustainability community. As a token of our appreciation, all accepted presenters receive a discount applicable to full conference registration.

We hope you will join us in San Antonio, Texas from Oct. 15 – 18, and be part of this inspirational exploration on the value of community, the power of empathy and the importance of diversity.

Please send questions to conference@aashe.org. We look forward to reviewing your submission and seeing you in San Antonio!
