Hello St. Edward’s Community. My name is Kasey Liehr and I am taking over this year as the head of the Tap the Hilltop Campaign. I am an Environmental Science and Policy Major with a minor in Graphic Design. Our goal for Tap the Hilltop this year is to educate people about the harmful effects that continuous use of bottled water has on our environment and our communities while starting to move towards one day having a bottle-free campus. We believe water should be safe, accessible and affordable for all; that water is a human right and basic public service, not a corporate commodity.
As members of the St. Edward’s University community, we ask that you join us in taking back the tap, by:
- No longer buying bottled water for personal use and working to reduce the use of bottled water during campus events.
- Using well-maintained drinking water fountains and filling stations in public spaces and reusable water bottles for students, faculty and staff.
- Demonstrating your support for policies that promote public water systems and ensure the maintenance and upgrades needed in our country’s water distribution systems.
We invite you to sign the Tap the Hilltop Pledge to show your commitment to taking back the tap and making St. Edward’s a bottle-water free campus.
