We’d like to introduce you to one of our Alumni Sustainability Champions: Claire Hemingway ’13! Claire left St. Edward’s with a BA in Biology, a Texas Academy of Science grant, an Edward C. Raney Fund Award, and a $1,000 Sigma Xi research grant under her belt for her work on social behavior in livebearing fishes with Dr. Deaton Haynes. She’s currently working on her PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of Texas where she’s partnering with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama. It’s through this partnership that Claire is collecting important research on foraging behavior in a wild, neo-tropical bat species.
We treasure sharing the stories of our graduates who are making a difference in the lives of so many people and invite you too to send us your story. To submit a nomination, please email the Sustainability Coordinator with the nominee’s name, graduation year, and a few green accomplishments.
