Beginning this fall, Bon Appetit will begin selling locally-roasted, organic, fair trade coffee from Texas Coffee Traders in all campus dining halls. Texas Coffee Traders has been operating from a restored warehouse in east Austin since 1994 where it roasts its beans daily and “practices a philosophy of worker empowerment where employees are allowed to create a work environment that provides room for individual growth.” The company is active in the community and donated over 200,000 cups of coffee and 300 man hours in 2014 alone. Texas Pecan, Italian Roast, and Vienna will be offered in both locations, so come by and try this delicious local coffee!
