Janelle Sylvester ’14 Wins Prestigious TROPIMUNDO Scholarship

Out of over 1,000 applicants and 300 eligible submissions, Janelle Sylvester ’14, Environmental Science and Policy major, was selected as a TROPIMUNDO Scholarship recipient. This is the second prestigious scholarship that Janelle has won, following a $1,500 scholarship from the National Recycling Coalition (NCR) in 2012. Janelle was the President of St. Edward’s Students for Sustainability for two years.

TROPIMUNDO is a 2 year-long EC-funded Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems. The program merges Higher Education Institutes with experts in the fields of tropical rainforest, woodland, and coastal ecosystems. Janelle will be travelling to the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium to study with other sustainability scholars.
