Two sides to every story. What an interesting idea. As they touch on in this video, you can’t have one thing with the other. As they explain, you can’t hear the chords one makes with the left hand, unless you have the right hand strumming. Even though everyone always considers the left hand to be the technical, and vital component of the instrument, nothing would even happened unless the right hand was there strumming it. I love this concept. I think it’s applicable to many other ideas. For instance, you can’t have good without the bad. Because, how would you know what good really was unless you’ve suffered through the bed? Nothing is one sided. It was also so interesting listening to Keith Richards first experience with the guitar. How there were different components. First, it was simply getting the guitar. Then it was learning the notes, and then the chords. Then it was playing with a pick. It didn’t just happen. There were different steps. I enjoyed this video because it’s always fascinating listening to an artist’s story and talking about why they do what they do. Even though I’m not entirely familiar with Keith Richard’s music, I still am inspired by his story and is knowledge.
