Lynné Bowman Cravens / Photo Comm St Ed’s, class of 2007, and Grad studies at Dallas

First she talked about her experience and her projects through her time at St Ed’s. She talked about Photo I and II (Black & White shooting), her “Old Cars” project, her study abroad in China with Joe Vitone, and also about her “Zombie Models of Dior” project.

Secondly she showed some of her grad work. Her paper cranes (connected to her father’s death), a book comparing her fight against cancer and her father’s fight, her project of series of photos creating a “false relation” with her grandfather, and a photo installation of her cancer development and healing.

Her biggest advice was to ALWAYS KEEP RECORDS OF WORK! SCAN/PHOTOGRAPH/STORE YOUR WORK.

This is her Website! www.lynnecravens.com

Miranda Petroski / Designer St ED’s, class 2013

She talked about how she started as a student worker, then interned at the place she’s working now, converted into a “Junior Designer”, and finally an “Interactive Designer”. She showed some of her work as well. Neither of her examples came into market. The first one was Muncher, and App for finding good food places near by. The second was Midnight Manager, designed as a Facebook for bartenders and the people that hire them.

Her biggest advices were to intern and to learn how to hand-make stuff (“Be able to work with paper and pencil too”)

Dustin Meyer / Photographer, specialized in wedding photography

Before studying photo at St Ed’s, he was a singer! He worked for Bill in wedding photography. Then worked in a small studio, where he even worked as the van driver. He said that the wedding industry is great. People get married all the time and you can meet great people (conctacts); you don’t even need a studio to work in, and the environment is “emotionally driven” when concerning sales. He says he loves drama and showcase in his photos. He comes from opera background.

Some of his advices were to get Lightroom, to find clients you want to work with and that want to work with you, to plan ahead of time, and that ONE PIC IS ONE SHOT AND ONE MOMENT, DON’T LOOSE THEM!

He takes interns!
