ARTS1311 Reading #4

Reading Q’s

  1. How is Warhol able to turn it “off” and based upon the article does he not care about the work?
    • Warhol does care about the work he makes, but he sees things that happen are meant to happen. He simply tried not to think too hard about his art because that just makes it more difficult.
  2. Why is the article relevant to the last project?
    • Sometimes to create something, you just have to let ideas flow and let whatever happen, happen.

Reflection Q’s

  1. Do you become self-conscious of your ideas? I am very self-conscious about the majority of my ideas.
    • Many of the ideas I have I feel are very weak, cliche or boring. I don’t really tell people about my artistic ideas unless I feel confident that people will like them, otherwise they stay in my private work.
  2. What do you think of the nothing-to-lose attitude? What are it’s pros and cons?
    • I often have this attitude when I feel like i’ll get nothing done otherwise. On the bright side, i’d get something done no matter what. However, because of this, it’s possible that I may skip steps or do a half baked job on my work  just to finish it.
