For this course, we went over the basics of the different visual arts courses (gaming, photography, graphic design etc) and the works of various different artists (be it professors or alumni) and they shared their experiences and urged many students to put themselves out there. While There wasn’t any one person I could go to for my own skills, as I’m not even sure what mine are, I was very happy to see that beyond the stress that goes into creation for all of these artists, they all truly enjoyed what they have made and are excited for what has yet to come. It is good that my classmates and I were exposed to different kinds of artists despite many of us going in different artistic direction, because it allows for us to learn and further appreciate the various types of artists out there. There is not just one way to be an artist. Some presentations held my attention more than others, but nevertheless they all add their own flair into the artistic world, just as I’m sure they all hope for the students in the course to do so as well. I guess I can’t really provide criticism for the course (positive or constructive), but I am glad I was able to be included in it.
