I have seen my academic counselor often and we have discussed how I am doing in classes. As a freshman I am grateful that I have these resources to go to when I am unsure about my courses or about what I want to do in the future. I am people like Roel Martinez are expressing the importance of visiting an academic counselor and how much it can help freshman such as myself. I have a goal as of right now for my own future, but I am still unsure about if that is the right path. I am sure, however, that my academic counselor will help me be successful as I can be on that oath.
For studying abroad, I have seen that it is very interesting and is very flexible to student’s schedules and what the students actually want to do once they are out of the country. They want students to enjoy their trip while also focusing on their studies. It is great to see how much it is encouraged and promoted, but personally I do not think I would ever study abroad. I have barley left the state, so I am not sure I would do well sort of on my own in another country.
I am happy to know that there are so many groups at St. Edwards for all kinds of students to find interest in and enjoy. Cabra and Command G would need students with different kinds of skills and talents to help make their projects fun and interesting. The only extra-curricular I am in is the Lacrosse team and I hope to be able to join the Art club once it really gets up and running. I would have liked to see a powerlifting team, but sadly I kept hearing how it would easily disband.
