08.0 End of the Semester Wrap Up

I think you’re wondering why my work often looks so much different in its final stages from its initial concept. I don’t necessarily think the shift in direction is a bad thing, but I feel that it’s worthwhile to examine the reason behind its occurrence. Obviously, my design will change as it continues to be developed and critiqued, but I feel like I often have a complete shift in my process. I think it’s important for me to embrace this change, because my designs flourish after I give them new concepts, but I would also like to learn how to be more consistent in my ideas instead of abandoning them.

I’ve started to write notes and draw diagrams of design ideas as soon as I get a new project, because I get lots of new ideas in the moment, and using this strategy has helped me create stronger designs that stick to the initial concept. I’ve only done it for one project so far, but I want to continue doing it to see how effective it is.
