For this project, we were given little pieces (video latches) to create a short video of weather in a country of our choosing over a three day weekend. I picked Germany, because my father lived there for six years, and my half brother was born and raised there. There were multiple moving pieces that I had to keep up with in order to do this project successfully. First came the research, and learning how to use after effects to animate type. Then came mapping out our countries for the video. Of course after that we found weather to put in the videos. One of the most difficult parts of this project was making smart typographic and color scheme decisions. It is important to pick elements that are easily legible and purposeful when creating a video that is type based. Putting these elements into motion helped show me what to avoid and what to continue doing as a designer while creating work.
