Kevin Maitan former top prospect for the Atlanta Braves has recently signed with the Los Angeles Angles for $2.2 million. Maitan was deemed a free agent once the Atlanta Braves were penalized for giving five international signees extra bonus money, in the process of banning the Braves former general manager john Coppolella for life the Braves had to forfeit 13 international prospects which included Maitan. Maitn was dubbed the crown jewel of the 2016 international free agent field drawing comparisons the Miguel Cabrera and for Brave Chipper Jones.
