Domain II: Creating a Positive, Productive Classroom Environment
Artifact 1: This artifact includes a lesson plan that utilized a cooperative learning opportunity by organizing students into groups. Students were required to work together to solve reduction-oxidation reactions in a relay format in order to fill their classification charts. Group activities give several opportunities for students to discuss, correct each other and scaffold material without an emphasis on indirect and passive learning. The relay format of the game required every student to contribute equally to advance in the race. This encouraged student cooperation and positive reinforcement to maintian group morale.
