In Jimmy’s type one class, we were given the assignment of creating our own text but also to create posters for a classmate’s typeface. I think that the first assignment allowed me to understand the objective of this one a little bit better. The project taught me how to look at type and think “how can I enhance this” with a design. The design shouldn’t diminish the qualities of the type, it should honor it. I learned more about type through this project and how to print. I was very unfamiliar with how to use a printer before Typography I but this assignment provided a starting ground to becoming more familiar with printing.
