For this project we were instructed to make a series of gifs correlating to a subject matter we chose with relationship to the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood. I chose doors as my subject matter. I chose doors because each and every one are unique, and have a different story to tell. Some doors were new and others old. Some were the entrance to houses while others were to local businesses. I also wanted to incorporate the vibrant colors that drew my eye while visiting East Cesar Chavez. I think the use of vibrant colors throughout the street symbolizes the rich culture that embodies this neighborhood.
The doorway was the foundation for my overall project concept, and I ended up centering my children’s story around it.
This project was a fun way of getting a stronger connection with the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood and utilizing the images we took on location.
