The requirements for this project was to create two set of instructions for an individual to use to have a particular experience at these locations and to create at least three buttons that directly correlate to the feelings invoked by the experience given by the instructions.
For my first location, I chose the Wild Basin Trail. My instructions are trying to invoke the feeling of solitude but in a positive way, a real contemplating experience outdoors. At first I had trouble with my instructions, making them way too in depth and not abstract enough. Through the critiques, I think I improved on them significantly and was happy with my final result. My goal for the buttons was to express a sort of solitude outdoors, peace and serenity.
My second location I chose a comedy house, The Velveeta Room. I wanted the user to feel genuine happiness with this experience. Overall I was really happy with my final design. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to create my buttons to be able to pin because of the short supply of supplies available for everyone, but other than that I think my final result turned out successfully. The only thing I would change about this would be bolder text for the black background to make it more legible for the reader.
This project turned out to be a lot of fun. The overall concept studied was Rules and we did a lot of exercises exploring the realm of rules and how we incorporate that into a successful design.
