This project for Image Methodology dealt with AfterEffect and Photoshop. The project was to create a 30 second video representation of our chosen constellation. The requirements were to find sounds to use in our project, scan different objects to use in our video and to create a video incorporating everything in AfterEffects. This assignment was by far my most challenging one Fall semester. The dreaded after effects…..It was challenging to say the least for me. I had never used the program before and to be thrown into using it so quickly without any previous experience was a difficult process.

First, we chose a particular constellation. I chose Cassiopeia for my constellation. I created a Pinterest board for my inspiration to create the video and illustration https://www.pinterest.com/emilyjanecosgro/image-meth-constellation-project/

I was challenged a lot creating this project. I honestly went in not knowing anything about what I was doing, but as it progressed I learned a tremendous amount about sound, images, and effects and tying all of those attributes together. My project is certainly no masterpiece. That being said I can’t even express how much I learned throughout the entire process of this project. I am proud of what I accomplished. It was a challenge and took a lot of hours outside of class to complete. I think that this assignment was a good introduction to design in motion, and certainly has helped me in projects after it. It not only taught me about the program itself but also instilled in me how valuable time is and really forced me to take advantage of the open studio hours.
