We were partnered up with a classmate for this assignment and required to make a pamphlet out of one of the graduation speeches we read during class. We were given two fonts, one to use for our title and the other to use for our general text. This was my first assignment I had ever used in InDesign and definitely was a learning curve. This project challenged me to understand the software but also to obtain a better understanding of typeface. This project taught me all about margins, a topic I was somewhat familiar with after being in yearbook throughout high school, but wasn’t particularly advanced in. We bolding the particular statements in the text that we thought really stood out and drew the attention of the reader.
I was nervous going into Typography I because I had no prior knowledge of the class before taking it. This assignment as well as the others in the course allowed me to look at type in a completely different light.
