Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?

I was supposed to work as a server during SXSW which is usually the busiest week of the year at my restaurant. Instead, my restaurant is closed and I am without a job until May 1st at least.

How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?

Very disappointed, many of my classes coursework can only be completed on school computers or in the studio on campus.

Where will you be living while courses are held online? Is this a change from usual?

Luckily I live off campus so my housing isn’t affected by the changes.

What has been your experience with moving classes online? What’s good? What’s not so good?

There are lots of good video call programs but it will take some getting used to.

How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?

I don’t have a job anymore and there are very limited things to do with all this new free time because most places are closed. I’ve mostly been watching movies and trying to figure out how to cook.

How worried are you about getting the virus?

Somewhat worried about getting it but mostly worried about accidentally giving it to my friends and family.

Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?

Yes, my cousin was in contact with a confirmed case and has all of the COVID-19 symptoms but is still not allowed to have a test as she’s not hospitalized.

Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?

I’m staying at my boyfriends and watching lots of police procedural tv shows.

Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?

I’m not going out except to HEB when absolutely necessary or to my apartment to get clothes and art supplies to stay busy. The roads have been super empty which has been weird to see.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about what you’re feeling or experiencing right now?

Just trying to not let the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds (lockdowns, etc.) get to my head too much.
