Style Lesson

My partner and I decided on representing the 80’s businesswoman style as the accompaniment to the preppy style we were asked to emulate. I acted as the businesswoman and was mainly in charge of styling myself for the photo shoot. I began with looking up references of the style online and picked out certain choices and elements that were present in the majority of the pictures. I looked at hair and makeup as well, examining what about them made them 80’s businesswoman. For my look, I attempted to recreate the spirit of the businesswoman and in the photoshoot, I tried to embody the style in the poses I chose and the backdrop color. In the group style-hybrid photos, my partner and I added to or switched up different pieces in our original outfits so that we created a businesswoman-preppy style hybrid while also harkening back to the original outfits.
