VISU 1311 Blog Post #12
The Way Things Go video was a strange video that took a long time to reach a very uneventful ending. I admire anyone who has the patience and know-how to create the kind of contraption that was shown in the video, but the ending was terribly disappointing. This video, however, was a good example of sequence in a more literal and tangible form. The entire video showed a plethora of events that were strung together to create a sequence that worked and made sense. This is pretty much the same thing that we must do in our final project except with pictures instead of chemicals, explosions, and tires. Each piece of the sequence heavily relied on the event or events that happened before it. This concept is something that we should bring in to creating our books. The sequence we create should make sense and work together in order to convey our idea and be effective. The images we choose should be chosen to help create a narrative or non-narrative book that interests the viewer. The pieces that make up a sequence are very important in getting across the message we want to say to our audience.
