Part 1:

1. The question posed by the assignment was ‘what makes up an image?’

2. The way I went about answering this question was identifying the different gestalt principles in the image that give the motels and pictures character or their engaging nature. I focused in two motels and tried to capture the nostalgia and wanderlust I felt when I was exploring each one.

Part 2:

1. I think the strongest aspect of my project was the continuity and the overall unity of the project. Each image that I included in the collection connects to each other by color and feel.

2. I think the weakest aspect is that I didn’t really get across my own emotions or experiences when I was at these motels.

3. I think that I should have taken a few more photographs that really captured my experience and the nostalgia and longing I felt.

4. I feel that my concept was pretty solid, but, to me, some parts of my thinking process were rushed so I would like to go back and really think through my concept.

5. When I posted my pictures to the blog I must have done something wrong because the color in my images was not well represented so I would like to go back and fix them.

6. Overall, I liked what I composed and I really connected to my concept and the images.
