This semester I am enrolled in the Listen, Learn, Communication linked LLC class. I would like to bring my new listening skills to my research group because I feel like it will help us learn to actually know what it is that the other person is saying. I think that it is very important that we communicate to each other our thoughts in a way that everyone can understand. I have learned that it is very important to ask questions when you do not understand something. I think that we avoid doing that because we either do not want the other person to know that we are not paying attention, or we just do not want to look like we are stupid. I would also like to hear other’s feedback on the topic. It is really important to be inclusive of everybody’s thoughts and opinions; it is part of being a good listener. I am excited to see what the group will come up with and what out topic will turn into.
