This assignment was about gathering information about a location being used for the identity mark project. My location was the boardwalk and through this writing assignment I was able to really let myself pay close attention to the area as I visited. I concentrated on the location itself and really let myself being the moment which really helped with this creative writing assignment. I think that the way I approached writing about the boardwalk was a design choice because instead of starting the journey in the story at the actual boardwalk, my story began on my way to the location. This added a bit of uniqueness to the story and created a more familiar setting for the reader. The way I wrote it helped the content and my overall idea of a hidden location become clear through the tone of the writing and the obvious frustration before getting to the boardwalk. The tone changes drastically as the reader arrives to the boardwalk which was also one of my concepts due to the boardwalk feeling very distinct to the crazy city life.
