Oceanic Society

Oceanic Society is America’s oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to ocean conservation. They created Blue Habits, which are science-driven ocean-friendly behaviors people can incorporate into their lives that can lead to healthier oceans. Their work is focused on a variety of areas, but one of their major efforts is combating ocean plastic pollution. In 2022, they teamed up with organizations worldwide for the 2022 Global Ocean Cleanup and removed 4,598 lbs of trash from the environment.

They work with programs to inspire change among individuals, communities, and corporations. Their BlueCommunity program supports coastal regions whose culture and economy are driven by the waterways they are built on.
