Unity:

Unity was constructed in my LATCH series through the san-serif bold typeface that displays crisp lines and a legible all caps format. The sleek yet modern look of the typeface compliments my idea to choose top fashion capitols of the world because it resembles the Chanel typeface among other fashion labels.

The color pallet I choose was a high contrast theme keeping it simple with black and white shades but also including a pop of color with the red. I realize red is typically attributed to warnings, severe weather or heat, but I believe that my theme is appropriate to use the red as more of a statement and accent that would better reflect a fashionable and urban feel. I wanted to stray away from typical weather report palettes such as greens, blues, and other earth tones because this weather report is tailored to the idea around the fact that these cities are fashion hubs, and most often the weather determines what you wear; which is why I chose to create a more stylized theme to my report. The use of black and white photos in the intro provides a visually pleasing context to the cities and their most identifiable architecture and landmarks that are about to be presented.

Animation:

As far as animating and using motion in my report I was cohesive in using simple sliding motion and opacity fades. In terms of organizing the information (the temperatures) I wanted to keep them sorted based on the city because I felt like ranking the temperatures simply from high to low would be irrelevant because weather is based on location. I felt that I could have done more with effects and motion to create a more visually interesting and stimulating report. I also felt like I could have been more precise in the timing and choreography of the elements.
