For this project, we were asked to design an experience–complete with instructions–that evoked a specific emotional reaction from whoever read them. Then we needed to design a token to commemorate (and capture) that experience. My experiences were a bus ride from Leander to St. Edward’s and my favorite yoga class at CorePower Yoga with Brenden. The emotions I experienced (and therefore wished to emulate through my directions) were solitude (bus) and joy (yoga). For my bus/solitude token, I wanted to capture the calming and recharging quality of being alone for awhile. The blue battery represents this calming recharge. For the yoga button, I wanted to play off the double entendre of my two favorite things about yoga: that it’s a present for your body and soul and helps you learn to be present in the moment. Keeping with the theme of double meanings, I illustrated a bee in place of the “Be” as a reminder to be present.
