For the second project in I.M., I created a typeface out of rubber bands. I initially tried zip ties and paper clips as well but chose the rubber bands because I liked the hand-lettering quality of it. I named the typeface Lady Vulcan due to the vulcanization process of rubber and the femininity of the typeface. Placing the typeface in a craft setting was important for the vibe of the typeface. Hand-lettering and the DIY culture are a throwback to a time before mechanization, and I wanted to reflect that vibe in the setting.
